BASE jumping has a few common areas of injury, and your back is one of them.

All Apex BASE containers come standard with a pocket designed to fit the D3O Viper back pad; a flexible pad which hardens on impact to spread the forces that would normally be absorbed by your body. Compared to soft foam, this pad gives you a better chance of walking away from a bad landing.

This technology is used in impact sports like football (American) and Hockey, as well as high speed sports like motorcycle racing. We can’t protect ourselves from every conceivable injury, but we think it’s worth a try.
