COURSE 102

B.A.S.E. PACKING

This course is intended for experienced skydivers preparing for their BASE First Jump Course.

Participants will be guided through step-by-step packing procedures with hands-on participation. The goal of this course is to be confident packing gear in preparation for your FJC.

Most BASE FJCs are led in a slider-down or -off environment. This packing class will be given on a dual pin container, slider-off.

Topics of discussion will include:

• Equipment overview recap: explanation of the various components of a BASE rig
• Gear selection and wing loading
• Gear inspection
• Packing techniques: Emphasis on proper folding, stowing, and securing
• Use of primary stow and tailgate
• Accessory installation
• Packing tools and field kits
