When we designed the TL2 our goal was to make the lightest harness-container system possible, without sacrificing durability or jumper comfort. While the ultralight design and elongated tray length will naturally appeal to wingsuiters and trackers, the TL2 is designed for all-around use. This container eliminates the long exposed corners found on other “terminal only” BASE containers, making them unsuitable for sub-terminal jumps. The tray is elongated just enough to make tracking and wingsuit pulls more natural and comfortable, but not so long as to create unnecessary snag hazards on sub-terminal jumps and aerials. We believe this is the ultimate all-around tool for jumpers who prioritize light equipment and a low profile for reduced drag in flight.

The TL2 comes standard with lightweight exterior fabric, a lightweight 1 inch chest strap, and an integrated riser system. The leg pads have been narrowed to reduce weight, and utilize lightweight aluminum AustriAlpin hardware for industry-proven strength and longevity. The harness geometry has been simplified to reduce bulk, and mil-spec nylon webbing is used on the harness for proven parachute industry strength and durability, as well as a little extra elasticity to reduce wear and tear on the body from a lifetime of parachute openings. The TL2 offers two closing methods, described below. Standard containers come with top/bottom flap closing loops and a single top through loop.

We believe the TL2 offers the best possible balance of: ultralight weight, low profile, easy pull characteristics, all-around functionality, durability, and comfort. Jumpers will find that this rig shines where others in the “lightweight, terminal-only” category tend to fall short. This container is built to last, and safe for use on every style of BASE mission.

FEATURES

Every TL2 is handcrafted from start to finish in our Southern California facility. Each unit undergoes two thorough independent quality control inspections. First the independent container components are inspected (e.g. harness, back pad, leg pads, cover flaps, etc.). The second inspection is conducted after all components have been merged into a complete container.

TRADITIONAL CLOSING OPTION

The TL2 is one of the most versatile containers on the market with two different closing methods. Many jumpers prefer to utilize traditional top & bottom closing loops and the TL2 maintains this functionality. Converting between closing styles is easy to perform in the field quickly and without tools.

THROUGH LOOP CLOSING OPTION

Jumpers who value a sleek, low-profile rig will love using the top internal “through loop” to further compress the pack job. PIN PROTECTOR FLAP INSERT

Terminal jumpers, trackers, and wingsuit jumpers will appreciate the stiffener insert we include with every container. The stiffener can be installed quickly to provide additional security to the pin protector flap for high airspeed flights. A hidden pocket is built into the container to store the insert when not in use.

ADAPTABLE PIN PROTECTOR FLAP

The pin protector flap was designed to operate unhindered on all jumps. There is no need to open the pin protector flap for any freefall jump however, extra-cautious static-line jumpers will appreciate the option to cleanly tuck the flap entirely out of sight. No more floppy open pin protector flaps on exit!

REMOVABLE D3O BACK PROTECTION

Apex was the first to build spine protection into a container system. The D3O Viper Stealth back protector has proven to be an effective method of protection and Apex builds an independent pocket (separate from the stash bag pocket) to accommodate these pads as part of the standard container package. The D3O insert can be removed and installed easily on unpacked containers.

BOTTOMLESS CORNERS

They improve canopy extraction during wingsuit, tracking, and head low deployments. As far as we’re concerned, every container should have them so they are standard on all TL2 containers.

The TL2 utilizes a soft bottomless corner design for reduced weight and bulk.

ULTRA LOW PROFILE, ULTRALIGHT WEIGHT

The TL2 was designed to be lightweight and low profile. Especially when paired with our UltraLite canopies, no other complete all-around system can match the low weight and low volume of the Apex TL2.

ULTRA LIGHT & ULTRA COMFY LEG STRAPS

The TL2 features a new narrow leg pad designed to reduce weight, while still being wide enough to instill feelings of comfort and confidence. The leg straps feature industry-proven AustriAlpin aluminum hardware for maximum strength with minimal weight.

MAGNET BRIDLE

Do you ever jump handheld? If so, the MAG Bridle is an ideal option for you. With magnets built into the right shoulder of the rig and bridle you’ll always be confident in your bridle security on handheld jumps. Lefties, we love you too! So if you’d prefer a left handed MAG setup give us a call and we’ll take care of you.

ELONGATED CONTAINER LENGTH

Terminal jumpers, trackers, and wingsuiters frequently prefer an elongated container to reduce the profile of the pack job and allow for an easier pull from their flight position. The TL2 offers a container length that is long enough to provide an easy and comfortable wingsuit pull, while not being so long as to make it unsafe for low jumps and aerials.

INTEGRATED RISERS

The light weight, low bulk, added strength and simplicity of Integrated Risers have led to them being the most popular riser selection in modern BASE equipment. In light of this trend, and because we feel that integrated risers are a superior option for most jumpers, we have made them standard on all of our containers.

The 3 ring system is not available on the TL2, as it is intended to be the ultimate in lightweight performance. Jumpers looking for a 3 ring system, and a lighter load, should check out our Summit Lite.

NEW HOOK KNIFE LOCATION

This new hook knife location first came out as standard on the Rook, and we loved it. Simpler to use and easier to access than a knife mounted on the chest strap, this new hook knife location is better in every way. It also reduces weight by eliminating the hook knife pocket required for chest strap mounting.
